🍵 How to prepare perfect matcha at home
Matcha is more than just a drink — it’s a small daily ritual.
A moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
Here’s the easiest way to prepare matcha at home using a traditional matcha set.
✨ What You’ll Need
-
- Matcha (about 2 g / ½ tsp)
- Matcha bowl (chawan)
- Bamboo whisk (chasen)
- Bamboo scoop (chashaku)
- Fine sieve
- Warm water (~80°C / 176°F)
🌿 Step by step

1. Sift the matcha
Sift 1–2 scoops of matcha directly into the bowl using a fine sieve.
This removes clumps and creates a smoother, silkier texture.
2. Add water
Pour in about 60–70 ml of warm water (not boiling).
The ideal temperature is around 80°C / 176°F to preserve the delicate flavor and aroma.

3. Whisk
Using the bamboo whisk, whisk the matcha with quick, gentle motions in an “M” or “W” shape.
After a few seconds, a light creamy foam will begin to form.
4. Enjoy
Your matcha is ready. Take a slow sip and enjoy the balance of freshness, smoothness, and naturally sweet notes.
☁️ Matcha latte option

If you prefer a softer, creamier taste:
- Add warm or cold milk
- Optional: a little honey or maple syrup
You’ll get a smooth and delicate matcha latte perfect for everyday rituals.
Cheers! 🍵
